This tool allows a more generalized search within the selected Active Layer.

1. Left Click on this tool.

2. In the box below the map is a field to type any portion of any value in a record. Then click Find String. 

3. All possible results will be listed in a table with number links to the left of the records.  If you click on a number then that records’ object will be highlighted and zoomed to.

Example: You know somebody by the last name of Manck lives somewhere on Main street.  You don’t know how to spell their name. Make Tax Parcels your active layer, Click on Find, type “MAIN” This will list all parcels on MAIN street.  You will then see the owner field and find the person you were looking for.  You can then click on the number link to that parcel.
